Performance Rates
Guitar (private events, weddings, gigs, etc.): $80 per hour minimum (must be booked for a least one hour)
If I have to travel more than two hours, there is an additional travel stipend of $30 for every hour of driving.
Banjo: $50 an hour min.
Bass: $50 an hour min.
I will only fly or take a train in rare cases where there is significant funding available or an exceptional opportunity. Airfare or train tickets and lodging must be compensated at least 80%.
Composition
Composition, arranging, and engraving rates:
New commissions: Please contact me with specific details. On average for solo or chamber works, you should expect to pay $80 per minute of music minimum. For large works, $200 per minute of music is often where I start.
Arrangements: $75 per minute of music min.
Engraving: $60 per hour min.
Lessons
Guitar: $85 per hour
Composition: $100 per hour
Banjo or bass: $65 per hour
Beginning piano: $40 per hour
*These rates are negotiable for students with economic hardship who show an exceptional dedication to learning.
